From Postpartum Struggles to Personal Triumph: My Posture Journey



I suffered for a long time following the birth of my daughter. My hips became very tight and I had stiffness in my whole body. My back rounded, my sciatica pain got worse and the bodily imbalances deepened.



Years later I took a Posture Course and things got much better. My chest opened, my shoulder mobility improved (not at the desired point yet!) my hips alignment improved and I'm freer in my natural movement and balance. But my favourite change is that my sciatica pain had disappeared entirely and I can finally walk and run with my daughter without the pain.




I took on an allotment plot last year and I'm actually able to do the hard physical work, which means the world to me both physically and mentally.



As most of you know I'm a Personal Trainer and this title made me accountable. For years I beat myself up that my body should be ripped, fit and flexible. I thought I should know how to do that by myself. But I didn't!




When I was a child I used to go to a posture class, where I could maitain my flexibility as well as working on my scoliosis for it not to develop any further. And that was good. I was part of a dancing group where correct posture was practiced every day. All this helped my body function for first 20 odd years.



In my early adulthood I was still active working with children and later managing a restaurant. All that changed for worse when I fell pregnant. The pregnancy was tough and I couldn't move for the last 2 months of the pregnancy. When my daughter was born I was trapped in pain, stiffness and tightness even more. After years of trying everything I found @PosutreEllie. The course was an eye opener. Lots of things were coming back to me from my childhood posture classes. And I knew this time it will make a difference. It is nearly a year and I now have a solid posture routine structure. One I love and rarely miss. I feel that this journey deserves to be told. I'm much better now. My mental health has improved too. I can race with my 6yo to school and work in the garden.



This has also shaped my business. I've created a new 12 Week Program, where I am training my clients using mainly weights. I forgot how much I enjoyed weight training and I love being able to share my passion and knowledge with others without paying for it later.
