What I did?
1) I eliminated all dairy products from the diet. Gone, gone and had it all gone.
2) Studied FODMAP foods and focused on throwing out all high FODMAP foods from your diet. High FODMAP foods are, simply to explain, short chain carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine and are prone to absorb water and then ferment in the colon. They are causing all discomfort and IBS symptoms. For beginners I recommend very useful apps to download, it'll help you to stay on track with staying away from high FODMAP foods. I use myself "FODMAP A to Z", but you can find one that suits you best.
3) Meditation, affirmations and regular exercise. Meditation calms our body, and mind, it helps us to our stressed state, enabling deep relaxation so that our whole body, including our digestion, can improve. Affirmations helps to dismiss harmful health messages and we are more keen on changes for better eating habits, like fruit and veg. Exercise helps in better digestion and treats constipation. It strengthens digestive tract therefore it can help eliminating unpleasant IBS symptoms.
